The Netherlands has hundreds of sustainability subsidies and financing opportunities, spread across dozens of authorities, each with its own rules and its own website. Finding out which ones you actually qualify for means collecting data from all of them and comparing it by hand. You Are On wanted to remove that search entirely and give people a straight answer instead.
What Rulecube did
You Are On built the verduurzamingstoolbox on Rulecube. It pulls data from 8 different sources and compares it against hundreds of subsidy schemes at once.
The Rulecube API builder connects to each data source and structures the data. You Are On then used the Rulecube Business Rules engine to translate every subsidy scheme into business rules, so the toolbox can determine whether someone qualifies for a subsidy and, if so, how much they can receive. Rulecube Workflow decides in which order and under which conditions each task runs, while authorization and services like documentation, version management, and logging are handled by Rulecube as well.
The toolbox is built to be embedded. An energy company, an insulation installer, or any business with a stake in sustainability can make it part of their own systems and IT landscape, whether that's a website or a backoffice system, and bring the outcome straight into their communication: an online tool on the website, a tip in a letter or email, or a net cost calculation.
An API lets you connect to the toolbox however you work. Trigger it automatically based on data already present in your own systems, or build your own set of screens and ask the toolbox targeted questions directly. An impression of the architecture behind the toolbox is shown below.
